Volkswagen Jetta Wagon
Volkswagen’s wagon variant of its popular Jetta line returns for 2009, after a few years of absence. Sharing the same mechanicals as its sedan sibling, the wagon adds plenty of space for Fido, shopping, building materials and more. As virtually the only compact station wagon on the market, the Jetta is fun to drive and reasonably powerful. The two engines offered include a 2.5-litre five-cylinder with 170 hp, or Volkswagen’s brand-new 2.0-litre turbodiesel with 130 hp. The latter also provides fantastic fuel economy as well, meaning more than 1,100 kilometres between fill-ups. You can order a Jetta Wagon with plenty of luxurious features, like leather seating, automatic climate control, an automatic transmission and aluminum wheels, but even a ‘base’ version come well equipped with a great stereo, multi-adjustable seats, ABS and more.
